Why The Venetia Fair?

Benny - Venetia Phair was the little girl who suggested the name Pluto for the new “planet” we discovered in 1930. But theeennn in 2006, Pluto wasn’t a planet anymore and Venetia Phair stood to slip into obscurity so we named our band after her (with a few minor changes).

Sam – She died recently RIP

Mr. Chark – Sam is right; she is dead.

Benny – She’s dead.

Your music is definitely something Ive never heard before, how would you describe your sound?

Benny – It’s intended to be theatric, chaotic, abrasive, melodic, orchestral, crazy, catchy, and scary. It’s kinda like The Blood Brothers mixed with Panic! At The Disco’s first album but with more piano.

Whats your favorite song to play live?

Benny - I love playing The Ringleader live because it goes through so many different feels so quickly and it’s really high energy with Joe stomping around on his piano and everything. We have a lot of fun playing that one, for sure, and we usually open our set with it because it shows everyone that hasn’t heard us yet what to expect.

Joe- Its really hard to choose a favorite, but I think I like playing Let’s Just Forget About This because in parts where I don’t play I get to hit Sam, or just tackle him.

Mr. Chark - I like to play A Man Like Me because there’s a lot of guitar in it. That’s what I play. The guitar.

Chris - The Ringleader, cause its usually when i break the most things

Is there any band or artist that you look up to?

Benny – Motley Crue for their dedication to the Rock n’ Roll lifestyle. Since Chris joined the  band we’ve lived by the credo WWTCD? (What Would The Crue Do?)

In general, what are your lyrics about?

Benny - The lyrics are about my thoughts and feelings. The first half of the album are the personal ones that I wrote about this horrid girlfriend I had that banged Joe (that’s how I met Joe, actually). So those are the “feelings” ones. The second half are the more philosophical ones, telling the story of a circus with no audience to represent the absurdity of human existence. Those are the “thoughts” ones.

Mr. Chark – I don’t write lyrics.

Joe - Sometimes they’re about me.

Guitar Hero or Rock Band?

Benny – I like the Oddworld series for Playstation and the Half-Life Saga. Video games are for fake aliens not fake instruments!

Sam – I’m better at Rock Band than real bass. So I’m a fan. Also, I can beat Mario 64 in 6.5 hours.

Joe- I like Monopoly!

Mr. Chark - I like Monopoly too! But even more, I like to play Icewind Dale.

Chris - I dont play video games, read books, or watch tv or movies. i just sit and think alot

Favorite movie of all time and from 2009.

Benny – The Biff Tannen (Back To The Future) Saga and the Star Wars Saga. I don’t know if I saw any movies that came out in 2009… Oh! I saw Inglourious Basterds. I guess that was my favorite one…?

Chris – Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Joe- I also love Back To The Future Saga… and in 2009 my favorite movie was when I watched Back To The Future in 2009.

Sam – I am such a fan of the cinema! Sam’s Big Book Of The Cinema is filled with DVDs and stays in the van for laptop viewing.

How long does it take to play/practice and record a song?

Benny – We tend to be very slow writers so by the time a song is completely written, we tend not to do much more practicing to get it tight. And based on our 12 days recording session for our 6 song circus, it takes about 2 days to record a song.

Joe- The song writing process can be really frustrating when Ben is telling me to write something “bumbly,” or “clunkety”

Benny - These are valid descriptions…

Any hobbies?

Benny – My dad calls the band a hobby. I guess I don’t really have any hobbies because my hobby became my profession pretty recently. Maybe it’s time to find a new one…

Joe- I like Monopoly

Mr. Chark - I build cabs for guitarists and bassists. Check out blackmarketcustom.com.

Chris – Mr. Chark and I own a company called Black Market Custom. I Build all the drums and he builds all the other stuff. We just love to build things!

Which animated character would you like to be for only one day?

Chris – Calvin, of Calvin and Hobbes fame, because he has a sick tree house, hates chicks, and literally does whatever he wants at all times.

The Circus is the perfect name for your album, how did you come up with it?

Benny – As soon as we began writing the circus portion of our album we began brainstorming ideas for a title. We probably went through a hundred of ‘em before we decided to keep it real basic and simple. It’s about a circus so it’s called The Circus.

1 big goal you would like to accomplish as a band?

Benny - All I want is for the band to become important enough that we need verified accounts on twitter.

Chris – I would just love be able to play drums for a living with this band until I die.  Hopefully that happens before I get too old to play drums cause then I’d have to get a real job.

What country would you like to tour? (Besides U.S.)

Sam - Well, seeing as how Chris currently isn’t allowed outside of the continental United States, it’s not really on our mind. But hopefully we’ll get all this worked out soon and blast Togo.

Chris - No Comment

You just won a Grammy, in the ceremony, you will thank

Sam - Nikki, Mick, Tommy, and Vince.

Benny - Probably our parents. Probably not god.

Joe- J-Dog and Aaron.  Also not god.

Chris - Butch, PCC, Ceara Murphy and Aboo Kitty

Mr. Chark - I will be nude.
